    Description

    I have two of the Transom clamps [Merc calls it a "thumb screw assembly"] with the
    classic torpedo handles
    that
    fit a
    crap-ton
    of older Mercury
    single- and twin-cylinder 2-stroke outboards; they're off the 1970's
    Merc 45 shown in Pic #2 -
    note that's 4.5 hp not 45. Both in perfectly serviceable condition with no damage - threads are good and handle grips fully intact
    , too.
    I know this fits a range of HP models over a span of decades -
    it wasn't broke so Merc didn't fix it.
    The part is NLA [No Longer Available] from Mercury  so twenty bucks -
    if you need a pair the 2nd one is four bucks less via the built-in shipping discount
    - should be a reasonable price.
